Yacht Charter

Bareboat Charter

Do you have a sailing qualification which allows you to charter a yacht (for example the RYA’s Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper licence, or Germany’s SKS licence)? Then let’s set sail!

Skorpios Charter has a fleet of impeccably maintained and well-equipped yachts, all of which are naturally available for charter. (The deposit is between €1,500 and €2,000 per yacht.) Before you set off from our base in Nidri, we provide you with details about the sailing area and exact instructions on how to handle the yacht.

We are also happy to inform you about additional insurance options to cover travel cancellation, skipper liability and your deposit.

Assisted Charter

Do you have a sailing qualification (e.g. RYA Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper) but would first like to ensure that you really can skipper a yacht on your own? Do you have experience as a skipper, but would prefer to take things carefully to start with? Is it a while since you chartered a yacht, or do you feel a little insecure in foreign waters?

We can organise skipper training courses on a day-to-day (or even hourly) basis for you with a skipper who knows the area and speaks English. He accompanies you and answers all of your questions. He will also practise the handling of the yacht with you as well as special manoeuvres, such as “Roman-Catholic” mooring, the rather light-hearted reference in the Mediterranean to stern-to berthing.

As in the case of Bareboat Charter, a deposit of between €1,500 and €2,000 needs to be made at the beginning of the trip.

We are also happy to inform you about additional insurance options to cover travel cancellation, skipper liability and your deposit.

Skippered Charter

Do you dream about sailing on the open sea in your “own” yacht? Do you love sailing and feel drawn towards this kind of travel, but don’t have the necessary qualification to skipper a yacht?
For all those who dream about the sun and the sea, about sleepy fishing harbours and secluded anchorages, about being at one with nature’s magnificent landscapes, but do not have the necessary qualifications, then sailing with a skipper offers a perfect solution. The skipper takes charge of the boat and you can – if you wish – either help sail the yacht or just concentrate all your energies on getting away from it all and being on the ocean waves.

The skipper shares life on board with the charter guests; he sleeps on the boat and shares meals. He has his own cabin. Everyone plans the trip together; the charter guests say what they would like to do and the skipper endeavours to fulfil their wishes – in as far as the weather and other marine-related conditions allow. Naturally, the skipper’s first priority always has to be the safety of the people on board and the yacht.

Choosing the right skipper is important. We have plenty of experience in this area, and we will gladly help you to find a qualified skipper who knows the area and who is also approachable and fun to be with.

For skippered charters, too, the charterer is obliged to make a deposit of between €1500 and €2,000 before the yacht leaves the harbour.

We are also happy to inform you about additional insurance options to cover travel cancellation, skipper liability and your deposit.

You would like to sail alone, but actually feel safer and happier in a group of several yachts and with people who have similar interests? Then a flotilla is the ideal solution for your sailing holiday.
You can choose to sail alone or in a group during the day, but can rest assured that there will always be a space for you in the harbour in the evening. You receive help berthing and casting off. If anything is not quite as it should be, you know that the flotilla captain is nearby and can provide you with prompt assistance.

We do not operate the flotillas ourselves, but offer you the possibility to participate in an English or Dutch flotilla. The surcharge for the flotilla is €200 a week.

The Crew Experience!

Would you prefer just to “get a whiff” of sea air and find out more about this fascinating sport? We can arrange a cabin for you aboard a yacht with other sailors. Whether you take part on your own or with friends, this option offers a good and inexpensive way to find out more about sailing.

In collaboration with our partner of many years Meganisi Sailing, we can offer you organised sailing trips in the Ionian Sea. The yachts SY Antares and SY Noah are reliable, well-equipped vessels. With an experienced skipper on board, you will be taken to the most beautiful spots which are, as so often, not always on the usual tourist routes. You will be surprised how much fun such trips can be!
The SY Antares only takes six guests (salon remains free) and the SY Noah five guests, so that comfort is well above average.
